Gobi Masala Cauliflower

  • 1 Whole cauliflower
  • 1/4c Ghee
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 6 Cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Fresh green chillies, diced
  • 1 tbsp Fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tsp Teja masala
  • 1 tbsp Teja coriander, ground
  • 1/2 tsp Teja cinnamon, ground
  • 2 tbsp Ground almonds
  • 1/4c Desicated coconut
  • 2 tsp Lemon juice
  • 1 Tomato, Chopped
  • 1/4c Yogurt


Leave cauliflower whole, remove leaves and cut back stem.Wash and dry. In a 2 cup microwaveable bowl, heat ghee uncovered at high for 1 1/2 mins or until very hot. Stir in onions, garlic, chillies, ginger and spices.
Microwave uncovered at high for 1 or 2 mins or until sizzling. Stirring in remaining ingredients. Rub mixture over entire cauliflower, filling all the space. Arrange upright in a shallow microwaveable dish such as a pie plate. Cover with waxed paper and cook at high for 8 to 12 mins. or until tender when pierced with a knife. (Cooking time will vary with size of cauliflower). Let stand 5 to 10 mins. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and green chillies for a hot affect, if desired.
